Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli & Isles 8 Book Bundle: The Surgeon, The Apprentice, The Sinner, Body Double, Vanish, The Mephisto Club, The Keepsake, Ice Cold - Tess Gerritsen This review is just for the final book, Ice Cold. I reviewed all of the other books separately. Ice Cold is the last book in this 8 book bundle and is by far the best, I believe. I read Ice Cold in one day. I started it at the gym and finished it before I watched Castle. (I tivo'd it and was only 20 minutes in when I finished with Ice Cold).

This book was terribly sad, disturbing and had a nice twist in the end. This book involved Cults and the disturbing practice of "marrying" young brides. Personally, I think Jeremiah Goode, "The Prophet" got off too easy. It was almost as if he "won" and I didn't like it even though he was gunned down by one of his young brides.

We got to see a softer side of Maura Isles in this book that I really liked. I do wish things had turned out better for her in the end and that she could have been granted custody of Rat. The scene where she pretended to be his mother was one of the sweetest and softest moments for Maura that I've seen in this entire series. However, I think that we will see him again later since he was taken in by what basically amounts to the Mephisto Club.

Her relationship with Daniel, the priest, also ended and it was bittersweet. They both loved each other but they were doomed from the start. I am glad she is moving on with her life and I hope we get to see her find a true someone in her life..

I just have one or two books left in this series to read. I do hope they can live up to the excitement of Ice Cold. If I had to compare, I would say it kept me as intrigued and enthralled as the first one, The Surgeon.
