Although I liked this book I was quite let down as I thought there would be much more angst in this book. Truth be told there wasn't really any. I thought perhaps the revenge would be the Duke making Alyssa fall for him and then cruelly toss her aside, you know, all that angsty goodness, but alas, it was not. They were just at odds with each other through the majority of the book. It was a bit off putting. The ending was abrupt. I wished we could have seen an epilogue.
I definitely think that Marlene Suson improved in her writing but this is one of her earlier books that just wasn't what I thought.
I wanted more angst! The back of the book was just a bit misleading.
