This was a great and fast paced read. It kept my heart-racing from the first page.
I think this is the most disturbing of all of the series that I've read so far. Nothing is more heartbreaking and devastating than to read about sex-trafficking. It is one of the most awful things that occur in this country and countries all over the world. It makes me sick to my stomach to even think about it. Reading about it wasn't my favorite thing but the story was so intriguing that it kept me going. I wanted to see those behind it pay. However, the real traffickers themselves did not get caught, did not pay (unfortunately, if one is caught and stopped, another one just appears). There was a single bad guy in this one that they focused on and he was of course, caught.
Again, if find that I really enjoy these books but I still love the tv show even though so many things are different. The love between Jane and Gabriel is sweet in the books. In the tv show, they slept together once and Jane is in love with another man who isn't even in the books. However, it doesn't keep me from enjoying both versions, if you will. Tess Gerritsen is a great writer who keeps the reader intrigued from page one to the last page. I always want to jump right into the next story.
I look forward to reading the next book and hope it keeps me as interested as all of the others.
